All,
I had my wife recently apply for a Chase card. She was denied, but I had her call to get approved once shuffling some credit limits around. Today I received the denial letter in the mail. My wife applied on 9/23, but the denial states that it was using data from EQ data 8/1/15. During this time most of our credit card debt was paid off and is correctly updated with all 3 CRA's. I know Chase uses its own internal scoring system, but why it is using such old data? Should I call in for them to reconsider and have them pull a new report?

Would it be to any advantage for them to pull another since you said it was approved after some credit shuffling.
You are correct that ultimately it doesn't matter since they opened the account up once we moved limits around, but I'd wish they would base their decisions on the data that is not over 45 days old. I do agree that the decision was probably made on data from their last soft pull.

You should call them. But Chase is tightening the rules a bit and may not budge. But defiantely give them a call.
Give them a call for a recon. Was the score that different?
Yes somewhere between a 75-100 point difference!
