i burned Chase 12 years ago but they approved me for 2 Chase credit cards this year, the Freedom and the AARP, i applied for a Credit line increase for both Cards and they were Declined, then i called to Recon and spoke to a Credit Analyst Specialist and had NO luck then i was transferred to a Senior Credit Analyst Specialist and both told me i can NOT get a CLI because they can see i had a Chase credit card that was Charged Off in the year 2002, i got so mad i closed both Chase accounts today....

Why do you close everything that doesn't give you a CLI?

i was shocked when they both told me they can see that Charge Off there and because of it they are NOT going to give me anything, i made so many mistakes a long time ago and i didn't even remember that i had a Chase credit card that many years ago until they both told me today, if i would've remembered that i did that to Chase that many years ago then i would've never applied for Chase cards at all this year....

So the bank you burned is nice enough to extend you credit on quality cards and since they decide against a CLI at this time you close the account. I get being disappointed maybe but you should be thrilled they extended credit even though you had previous negative history with them.

i think you are right, but i think i want to be with banks that don't know about my irresponsible past, i'm a very responsible person now and there is nothing negative on my credit reports and the idea of continuing doing business with a bank that is always going to treat me like an Adopted child, doesn't sound like fun to me, besides, Chase now a days is closing people's accounts for any little thing, Chase is tough and they don't even have a CLI online button like other banks have....

Reason # 3 why I didn't go for that 22.5K UR offer posted yesterday.
I have two recent Chase approvals and don't want a pissant limit on my 3rd or 4th card from them.
