Lot's of different views on Chase and closing accounts on this thread. Chase got my accounts from Providian and then WAMU. They put me on a siding and many others found Chase closing their accounts. In 2010 Chase greatly reduced my credit lines. I was so mad... in the end I called and talked them into restoring my credit lines. Finally, (they were in my BK7 from 2001) I was able to app (2013) and get approved for a Chase Freedom Mastercard (converted to a Visa July 2014 - not my choice). From there I was able to finally get the Chase Freedom Visa upgraded to include the Visa Signature option (no I didn't need it but it was about getting Chase to recognize my credit rebuild and they did). Also, Chase upgraded my older Chase Business Ink Cash Rewards card to a Visa Signature version (April 2014). The bottom line is I totally share your feelings and wanted to walk away but something kept knawing at me (it wasn't rats) to hang in their and maybe just maybe there would be a second chance. Note, the second chance took from 2001 to 2013... a long time in my view. Hard to remain cool sometimes (speaking for myself).
thank you

Chase is very sensative these days, i'm sure there will be many differing opinions but the same way they may have 'robo approved' you for both cards do you think the same might have happened with auto cli's because it would be based on a different criteria as opposed to manual review? Either way I understand your feelings on this matter we've all done a thing or two that later on we regretted, and i'm glad you've moved on to a better standing
thanks
............there is life after Chase, i hope so
This is just a rumor but i've heard there are 'other' banks out there
I know it's hard to believe shhhhh....... don't let this get out.
don't worry
, your secret is safe with me ![]()
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing! ![]()

I didn't burn Chase and they never give me any auto luv. I had to get my last increase from them with a HP. While I wont close the card, I will sock drawer it! I find it funny that I prequal for over the last 6 months with other cards from them, but never a CLI. I can't even PC with them, but I could accept an offer for a CSP or Slate. I think the Slate prequal has been there for over a year! So I can understand how you feel.

How long have you had the card? I thought Chase does soft pulls for their auto CLI, if they don't will you look elsewhere?
Well what's done is done. Never ever take these decisions from banks as personal. It is what it is. Big business. I would not have closed. But. Ooh well. If you want the relationship. Should be long term. Cli or not. Not a fly by night attitude. I think too much reading on what others get on the forum. But I feel your pain. Example. I burned. Penfed 30 years ago. Gave me car loan for 40k. Sent me check. I cached it never paid. Was a 19 year old.
if they give me another chase even after all these years. Even with 200 limit. I'm not mad. Means redemption from past bad deeds. Basically just sd young. Keep things in proper perspective. Do what's best for you. And don't let emotions overtake good judgement.
You cashed a $40,000 check from them and kept tthe money without buying the car?
