My Chase Freedom card has never gotten an auto nor requested CLI since I opened it 12/2014. I saw so many people have success when calling in to get a CLI that I gave it a try. The rep said no to my CLI. I got the letter today and Chase claims my credit card debt is too high. They pulled Exp (SP). I do not carry a balance on most of my cards. My Exp says my util is at 13% and that's due to a balance transfer I'm paying on my BofA and some purchases I made at 0% on my Chase Amazon. My Costco, NFCU and Amex Blue Cash are my daily drivers so I let those report a balance but I pay my statement balance off every month. Guess I'm just going to have to keep those cards in the sock drawer. It's annoying considering BofA just have me a huge CLI ($11k) last week. But Chase will be Chase.
Sorry to hear about the denial @Kennie02
It very well may be your current balances and utilization reported. When I got cli's from Chase in Feb., my Fico scores were similar to yours and I, too, had opened several new accts in 12 months prior( 4 although they were summer 2022). As for my balances, I happened to be AZEO though I don't practice that regularly. Not sure if the balances and UTI spooked them.
I can imagine you'd want to get an increase but given you hve daily drivers practicing AZEO is likely not practical for you.

I didn't realize that they'd get spooked by that but it's good to know. Maybe I'll try for a CLI once those balances are paid and AZEO. I've already closed a Chase card because of low limits and I don't really want to close any others. Thanks for the info @nytokyobred79
Chase is sensitive to having multiple balances reporting. I had this very same in depth conversation with an analyst almost 2 years ago.
I make over $400k / year and Chase told me to pound sand because I allowed too many cards report balances. The analyst didn't care that whether I paid in full every month or not. I could've wiped out 100% of my debt that day. She went line by line on both my Experian and Equifax reports and asked for an explanation of every reporting balance (which I explained). Since then, I manage the number of REPORTING balances and Chase has the warm and fuzzies for me now.

Good Luck with paying down the balances. Hopefully, it turns out that it was just a case of the balances bothering them. I'm carrying a hefty balance on 2 cards now so I'm going to lay low until they're paid down in July.
