So on 1/31 I apped for the Disney Premiere Visa card and recieved the 30 day message. A few minutes later just for poops and giggles , I apped for the Disney Visa card (as opposed to the Disney PREMIERE Visa) and recieved the same 30 day message. I called the status line and was told that my first app had the two week message and the second app had the 7-10 day message. I later read online that back-to-back apps with Chase sometimes results in an automatic denial of the second app. No biggie. I was excited to get the two week message because I've read that it pretty much means you're approved.

Fast forward to 2/5. I get two separate denial letters each with it's own unique reference numbers via snail mail with a date of 2/1. But the automated line continues to say two weeks. I'm confused now and have four questions.

  • Why does it say 2 weeks when they clearly made up their minds to deny me only 1 day after I apped??

  • Should I wait it out until the 14th day before calling recon, just to be 100% sure?? I've heard the horror stories of rocking the boat with Chase while apps are pending.

  • If this has happened to anyone else, then can you tell me if it's going to continue to say two weeks up until the app finally hits 30 days and is no longer on file?

  • And what do you think my Chances are of getting it approved on recon?? Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

Denail letter has a 691 credit score and basically says I have too many inquiries. 10 total inquiries including the HP that they're using right now. 7 of the 10 inquires are from Dec 1st 2017 to Jan 31, 2018.

I have the Amazon Prime card (Apr 2017) and the CFU (Dec 2017) and they're in good standing and 0 balanced and from what I understand, the Disney card isn't subject to Chase's 5/24 rule. This is my first time apping for Chase since Dec 1st. Thus, I'm not in violation of the 2/30 rule.

EQ: 6% utilization, 100% payment history, 0 derogatory marks, 3 year age of credit history, 20 total accounts (1 car, 8 student, 5 open CC's, and 6 closed CC's).

Thanks.

I think recently Chase updated Disney card to be subject to 5/24. 😖

I think all Chase cards are under 5/24 now (haven't seen concrete data on AARP or Amazon, but otherwise, yeah).

I don’t think Amazon would let Chase get that restrictive, that’s a good way for Chase to lose Amazon as an account.
