Chase Fraud Verification

So I tried to apply for the Chase Freedom card and they wanted me to call to verify. I just did all that but he rep said that I dont have a telephone number on file with Equifax (I always input my number on all applications, etc so for him to say that was odd). I also had ot call in because they said i have an extended fraud alert on my Equifax report.

I'm wondering, do i just call Equifax and update my number with them? Has anyone had this issue? He also gave me the option of going to a Chase Branch for an in-person verification with the letter they sent me, photo identification and proof of address. All this just to try to get in the door with Chase? haha.

How do I take off that extended alert off Equifax?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Chase Fraud Verification

Sounds like you have a fraud alert on your Equifax report, you will have to call them about that.. Regarding the phone number I assume you might be able to take care of that during the same call.. Never personally read about the phone number issue of a CRA not having one, sure others have though.

You don't remember putting a fraud alert on your Equifax credit report or being a victom of identity theft in the past?

Re: Chase Fraud Verification

Yea i told the guy i was calling from the phone number that I used on my app but he insisted I go into the branch to verify my identity. Trust me, no one wants to be me. LOL jk jk

I had the alert put on when Target had that data breach since I use my debit card for everything. I will have to call. I remember not being to access one of my credit reports because they couldn't match my information. I'll try to call them. Thanks.
