Hey all, and thank you for reading my thread.
I recently got an offer in the mail for Chase Freedom. So I applied and I was told to wait 7-10 days for a letter in the mail. I called them up using a backdoor number and a lady CSR answered. She told me that my application is pending authentication and they needed to confirm my address. She told me I was pre-approved but there was a note listed on the application that they just needed to verify my address. She gave me a number to call the department that handles these things.
Now I recently got approved for the Chase Slate credit card but it was done manually. A lady called me up and asked me to verify my address as well. I verified it and she told me to hold on. She then told me I got approved up to 4.8k.
So back to the Chase Freedom, I called the number and a male CSR had me answer security questions. After that he told me to wait a minute or so. He then tells me I need to fax a copy of my drrivers license to verify my date of birth and address. He said to call back within 3 days after sending over the fax.
I asked him if I was approved for the card, pending verification. He said he didn't know and that after sending the fax, to wait for either a denial letter or a card (approval).
So based on this information, the lady told me I was approved but the male told he couldn't answer my question and to just wait for the decision in the mail.
My Experian FICO is 695 - this is what Chase HP'd for the Slate card.
My TransUnion is 685 - this is what Chase HP'd for the Freedom card.
I own a business that makes 250k+ a year but I do have a thin history.
I appreciaite all the replies. Do you folks think I'm approved for the freedom card?
What is recently? I had to send in docs for my first card with Chase (Freedom) but both subsequent apps were with phone verification only. Basically had to answer a few questions on my other existing account each time but no further fax documents.
If you had asked me I would have recommended to app for 1 Chase card only and wait 6 months and then go for the 2nd one. CLs get better with 2nd card
..Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. Recently as in earlier this week.

for both cards?
Yes.
So, Slate got approved on Tuesday. Responded to offer Monday.
Freedom, responded to offer today with the results I stated.
Ooh I'm also an authorized user on another Chase Slate card. Shows on all of my credit reports.

That is pretty much two cards at the same time and this could be the reason why both cards required documents. Depending on your file it is possible to get accepted for both cards. As for me I would never apply for two new cards with the same lender and this just to minimize risk of denial. I prefer to wait another 6 months and then add the other card. I wish you all the success possible ![]()
How long did you wait before applying for a second Chase card. I recommend waiting 30 days after your last HP from them for the best chances because I've found that if you don't wait that long between apps, you're way more likely to get declined. That's what happened to me and my Chase Amazon Visa though I have a good feeling that if I had waited a bit longer, I could have gotten it.
