Chase Freedom Card Application

Hi all! This is probably my first time to post in here. I applied online for the Chase Freedom Card for the obvious reason of rolling over the balances on my 2 other credit cards.  I got the 7-10 business days message. I was thinking if this is a denial or they really need to review my credit. I don't have any negatives on my file coz I am kinda new on this credit thing. According to my Fico score from my Barclays Card Fico Score I have a 678. The only problem is that I had maybe 20 inquiries in the last 6mos or so. Domyou guys think I need to call the recon? What do you think are my chances that I will be approved when I call them? Thanks in advance to all those who will reply.

IF they pulled TU, Your score will pass the test, that many inquiries though will hurt it, badly.

Definitely recon since you took the inquiry. It never hurts to try.

Re: Chase Freedom Card Application

I was approved through recon and mine was for a balance transfer, as well.  At the time that I applied, my score was close to yours but with fewer inquires.  You already had the hard pull, use the backdoor numbers on myfico and give them a call to discuss your application further.  I think one of the reasons that they held my application was because I was just approved for a Chase Amazon within a day or two of that application. Something to keep in mind.

That's one of the reason too why I want to ask some opinions from here on whether I will call recon or not, I was just approved for the Barclays card 15 days ago and just made a purchase for an iPod touch as a gift for my 9year old. Do you think they will take it against my application?

Re: Chase Freedom Card Application

Thank you all for the suggestions. I called the chase backdoor number a while ago and verify my information. The kind lady says that I have mistakenly put a wrong social that's why they put it in verification. After a few minutes the lady says "Welcome to chase and you've been approved with a $1200 cl". It's like I have been given a Christmas present in January. Thanks all!!
