Re: Chase Freedom Card

Freedom is tricky... Seen people with 620's get approved.. On the safe side 650 -570 wil probaby get it for you...  They can pull TU/EQ or EX or a combination if they so choose...  The best bet is to get your scores up more OPT-IN if you aren't already and try the Pre-Qual Site for Chase ... If it pops up, more then likely you will be approved.. Very few times have people been turned down via the pre-qual site.  Nothing is set in stone, but that is my thoughts on the matter.  Best of luck on building your credit or re-building your credit.

+1

The Chase PreQual site is almost written in stone. I tried it for like a whole year and nothing showed up until my 2nd prime cc reached one year, apped, and was approved for 3K although i called in to recon because i couldn't take the long wait. I was specifically questioned on a single card that had just gone 1 year if thats any help. It's been mentioned Chase likes to see at least 1 year history with another prime lender but there's been approvals with less than that.

Can you point me in the direction to OPT-IN? I'm pretty sure I've opted out in the past. Thanks for the advice!!!

I'd wait until 680+ on all three since Chase is quirky about who they pull/double pull.

Re: Chase Freedom Card

I got approved with a score of 650, and then got big headed and tried for the Amazon and got denied stating I had too many accounts with them.  I just got freedom, so I don't know what they actually mean.   I'm gardening for 6months and might try for something else after that.

Re: Chase Freedom Card

I just applied last night, may not help much since I have pretty high scores and got approved for a $7k CL.

My girlfriend got one a few months ago and her scores are all around 680-690, and she got approved for a $2k CL and then she called for a CLI which they actually denied her and would not even counter offer her... But she's 5 years younger than me (I'm 25) so that's not too surprising.

My brother also applied the same day as my girlfriend (I guess you could say we had a Chase Freedom app party that night), and his scores are around 700-710, he was instantly approved for $2200, and he has not tried for a CLI though I keep telling him to try. Age wise he's four years younger than me.

From what I can tell Chase puts a lot of emphasis on a longer history, they specifically told my girlfriend when she asked for a CLI that they want to see a longer history and how she can manage the $2k CL before they give an increase.

I don't see why going to the pre-qual site doesn't bypass your opt-out. You are reaching out to them, not the other way around.
