I applied for the Chase Freedom on August 8th, called recon, she rejected the application and said they would like to see how I'd do with my other cards. I called another time on the 9th and the agent said I called on the 8th and was told the reason. She wouldn't help me whatsoever unless she had different information on the credit report. Called the credit analyst line and he told me I called the 8th and the 9th and was already told the reasons why my application was denied. Same as the last time, wouldn't help me unless he had different information and he sounded so rude. He hung up the moment we said our byes. It looks like they're writing down every time I call, so I'm not sure another phone call would do anything but here's a bit of my credit report:
FICO Score: 714
Cap1 Quicksilver: $500 limit, since 7/1/17
Discover IT: $1000 limit, since 5/5/18
AAoA: 5 months

Chase typically will not approve credit card applications if the average age of your accounts is less than one year. So my suggestion is to carefully manage your existing accounts - pay on time and try not to carry excessive balances - and retry once your exceed the minimum hurdle of one year.
And yes, they do record and make notes about each time you call.

Do you bank with them, If you do bank with them (atleast an year since you opened checking/saving bank account) they will ideally give you a toy limit like 700$. This was my chase success story with 2 months credit history.

I’ve had a checking account with them for 2 years, but I’m not sure how I could use that info in my case.
Talk to the closest chase bank branch manager and request them if they can provide a reccomendation letter. Explain them causaully why you like Freedom CC.If you are able to get him say a word to the CC dept there is high chance you will be approved. There is no harm in trying. When I applied I did not get instant approval, I think it asked me to wait 3 BD for reponse. But I was fortunate to get it approved on recon for toy limit.
They don't like HUCA on the backdoor. Even the second call made by a friend got treated with some rudeness.
I had a targeted offer (Full APR range though) for the FU when I only had my Disco and only for 6 months. Got a toy limit of $500... I eventually got an auto-CLI and took an HP for another CLI, but it's still my lowest limit and highest APR today.
