I called and unfortunately due to all the new cards I've acquired, they still denied me. Guess I'll wait until all my inquiries fall off and age the new accounts.

Something is going on at Chase...  This seems to be the standard response lately.... Hmmmm...  Sorry OP.

Something is definitely going on. Glad I got what I got while the going was good.

Re: Chase Freedom Denied

I suspected something goofy was going on at Chase when the wife's Hyatt VS was initially declined and at first they didn't want to reallocate. She called in a few days later and got them to grant this request.

Re: Chase Freedom Denied

Chase is definitely tightening the belt up.. Hopefully they will be in the holiday giving season again later in the year when their pocket books really opened up in Nov/Dev..  You can just tell by this board alone from sure things to denials now..  They look for any reason to deny a person now and are deffinetly more inquiry/account sensitive than they use to be unless you have been with them along time and you might be able to get away with more.

Re: Chase Freedom Denied

I am definitely an anomaly with Chase then. I still don't quite know how I got them to give me a Freedom and an SWA last month with my scores LOL. Hopefully they don't realize they made a mistake and take them back!! Smiley SurprisedSmiley Surprised

Yeah I've already given up on trying to get in with Chase until the end of the year when my BK13 falls off...

I applied in January shortly after I bought my car... denied too many inquiries.  It was about 6 on each CRA from the car loan.  The only inquiries prior to that were 1-2 on each report from the 4 new accounts I opened in December.  I told them that on recon and then the rep brings up my 6 year old BK13.

Really?  Ok... so you think I can get a $500 Freedom card?  I'm not asking for much, just to get in the door.

Nope, denied.. .LOL

At the end of the year when my BK13 stuff falls off I will have no new accounts and no inquiries in 6+ months.. (garden date 3/30/15)  Scores should be well over 700 across the board.  If that doesn't get me in with Chase I'll never apply with them again.  Smiley Wink

Whatever happens.. they are a big PITA lender... just like Citi.

Citi, FNBO are worse.

Chase is awesome if your profile is what they're looking for at the time.
