$200 CL on a freedom? Thats a new low.
Wow, Chase. Wow.
store cards have higher limits than that. Like dang!
Garden for six months, then see what happens.
Called a second time. Same result. A better conversation tho. Listened to me as I explained the accounts and credit on my report as we reviewed it. Too many new accounts is still their reasoning. The rep was impressed at me being able to handle my accounts and my knowledge and even recommended i look at myfico for reference material and information. Told him i was already a member lol. But at the end still a no go. Oh well.

@keithbward wrote:Definitely wanted to focus on cash back cards and wanted a Chase Freedom since I started my rebuilding journey. Was denied for too many new accounts this year even with low utilization. Was told I had too much credit by the analyst. So if I still want it in another 6-12 months maybe I'll try again, but the conversation really left a bad taste in my mouth with Chase especially after explaining how I utilize all my cards and maintain keeping my spending under control.
Not sure if this will help you out or not, or perhaps it will give you just a bit of inspiration; be patient & have faith... I started my Credit Rebound back in April of this year... At that time I had applied for the Chase Freedom, denied... I then tried again (the following month), denied... I then joined here on MyFico (a month later), started reading & researching... It was known that the Chase Freedom was my "Dream Card" at the time... I still had no clue what I was doing (learning process) but started understanding things more & more... One night I decided to re-apply for it, it was an all or nothing attempt (I was DETERMINED!!!) - I had accumulated more to build up my CC Portfolio (so to speak), so I felt much more confident... FINALLY - APPROVED!!! it was an itty-bitty $500 with the highest APR but I didn't care - it was my foot in the door!!! Mind you, I already had a Checking & Savings with them but I don't feel it even mattered at the time (but who knows...?!?)... Bringing you to today, I am waiting patiently for an Auto CLI with my Chase Freedom but not holding my breath... In the meantime, I was just recently approved for two other Chase CC's; Disney Rewards for $2,000 & Amazon for $1,000... To many this may not seem like a lot or worthy - to me, I am VERY appreciative & feel that Chase has opened up; I am developing a very nice relationship with them!!! Honestly, back when - I did not feel like I even had a chance with Chase... Now I feel I am being given the opportunity!!! They have granted me "three" CC's, and now I am going to prove I am worthy... I look forward to a very NICE future with Chase!!! Good Luck!!!
@Anonymous wrote:Chase is weird man. I was approved for the Freedom with absolutely no credit as an 18 year old for $200 and have increased my score significantly and have $10000 CL cards but Chase still won't give me a generous CLI. Just got upgraded this week though... to $400 so I know how you feel. Do you have history with Chase? I banked with them for about 3 years before I applied for the Freedom. Like you, I've been left with many sour tastes with Chase. Best of luck moving forward.
200 for a freedom, come on chase what is happening ?
