Chase Freedom denied

So I applied for the freedom card yesterday and was denied. Call three times for a recon and no budge. According to the rep if you filed for BK within 7 yrs they don't want to see no more than 5 new accounts within 2 yrs in order for them to consider it .I will have to let this new accounts age for another year and try again.

Re: Chase Freedom denied

Sorry about the denial.. Smiley Sad Chase doesn't like to see more than 5 accounts in 2 years with anybody, BK or no BK. It's a recent policy change that has been discussed on the forums quite  a bit.

Re: Chase Freedom denied

There needs to be a PSA I guess about this so people will stop wasting hps.

IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 5 NEW ACCOUNTS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT APPLY FOR CHASE SLATE,FREEDOM OR CSP. YOU WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DENIED FOR TOO MANY NEW ACCOUNTS!!!

What "new" policy?

I got approved just over a week ago for my 5th Chase card (Zappos) and they pulled EX with over 90 INQ's and 40+ new accounts in last 24 months

They like to use whatever excuse is available to them when they simply don't like your profile. The excuse could be anything. I don't think this policy change is a real policy change at all.

Re: Chase Freedom denied

SecretAzure believe it! It is a real policy change for branded cards(the 3 I mentioned). Co-branded cards are fair game.

It's definitely a new policy that has been confirmed on multiple sites and by Chase bankers.  In CreditAddict's case, he was approved for the Zappos card which is a cobranded card.  This policy applies only to the CSP, Freedom and Slate (and possibly to several of their business cards).  Those are non co branded cards.

Re: Chase Freedom denied

I'm sure it's a real policy. People with 800+ scores and clean, thick profiles have been turned down due to opening more than 5 accounts in two years. I know I've seen a couple threads where that has happened.

Re: Chase Freedom denied

Good policy!

I know I can avoid Chase till December 2016!

PITA lender anyway!  I've made it this far without 'em!  All good!
