Chase Freedom or Amex Gold?

I’m debating my next card. My latest card was a AMEX Everyday and when that’s 6 months old I’m going to apply for something new. It’s between the Freedom and Gold, I don’t have a Chase card yet so it’ll be my first. Any thoughts or opinions?
Current cards and stats:
Open Sky Secured $300
Cap 1 QS1 $3,500
Cap1 QS $1,500
Amex Everyday $2000 (Almost time for a 3x CLI)

All scores between 730-748

Your scores should put you in the running for both. Since you already in the MR game the Gold might be a better choice. If your spending is heavy on restaurants and\or groceries the Gold might be a better choice overall. Of course, you should really weigh the rewards vs the annual fee.

Most of my non-fixed spending is food, both restaurants and grocery stores. The only reason Chase is in my head, is because whatever card I get will put me 5/24. So I’ll be stuck without chase for a bit.

What are the opening dates for your current cards?  Can you see $250 in value in the AMEX offering?

Open Sky: 4/18
QS(was Platinum): 10/18
QS1: 6/19
AMEX ED: 9/19
And yeah even without the credits (which I’ll use) I’ll get more than $250 back.

I think the CSP/CSR are more competitors for the Gold than the Freedom.

I didn’t wanna risk getting denied, wanted to slide my foot in the door first. Not to mention the CSP having a minimum $5k limit.

You have a 3000 & 3500. I recently received a $11700 SL with Chase despite only having 2000 & 1900 with lower credit scores. I can't guarantee it, but it isn't a stretch if your current utilization and income support it.
