Chase Freedom

Hi all,

I am thinking about applying for the Chase Freedom and wanted to know some data points of people who have gotten the card or have not gotten the card. My aaoa is 7 with oldest card being 10 months old. One card is reporting like 5% and the other is around 28% but I just paid it down to 6% although if I apply now Chase won’t know that. I’d like to apply know because I need to buy a new laoptop and so I will get the bonus easy. Should I apply now or wait? Thanks!

Re: Chase Freedom

Also what about the new Amex card 1.5%? Would I have better odds with that?

Re: Chase Freedom

In your other identical thread, you were told to wait, both for your oldest account to reach 1 year since Chase likes to see 1 year of history, as well as allowing your new Amex balance to report to CRAs to give your score a little boost. That obviously was not the answer you were looking for so you should just apply now. Good luck.

Re: Chase Freedom

I didn’t mean to ask again or such I just wanted to get some date points to see if it would be better to wait even longer. I realize now it is a lot like the other post.

Re: Chase Freedom

The advice you received in the other thread were based on years of data point, many young/thin profiles with a decent score like yours has been turned away by Chase due to the fact that they're known to look for minimum of one year history. If you don't mind risking a possible denial and a wasted HP with a 10 months history, go for it, who knows what can happen. If you can pull yourself back from the excitement of getting a new laptop and CC, wait a month or two, you'll drastically increase the chance of success with better terms.

Re: Chase Freedom

To answer your second question, if it is just the SUB you are after for your computer, the Amex CM would be a better bet if you don’t want to wait a few months for Chase and can meet the 1k spend requirement.
