What were the reasons cited for declining the application? Keep in mind, as there may have been notes placed on your application, the potential outcome for a 3rd attempt is likely to be the same. Pushing quite a few Chase apps so close together is not usually a wise move.

So I applied for the Hyatt card on 08/01 and was denied 2 weeks later. Already tried recon twice to no avail. The CSR said I already had 2 Chase cards recently (CF in May, CIP in June). I plan to try recon one last time 2 weeks from now just before the 30 day mark to see if anything changes. What are your suggestions?
I'm planning a RTW trip next Febuary, so I may have been a bit more aggressive than normal. I also want to get the CSR card before the trip too. I'd really like to have some opinions about spacing my application for the card. Thank you for your help!!
Honestly if you tried twice for recon and they denied I don't think a third try will net different results.
I would let you new cards age a bit and remember chase's 5/24 rule.
How many new revolving tradelines have you opened in the past 24 months? Is it just the Chase Freedom? Also, since your signature indicates you're an AU on 3 CCs, were any of those added to your CRs in the past 24 months? What are the CLs on the accounts where you are the primary accountholder?
If you are looking at CSR, the cited reason(s) "Too few accounts on file for a sufficient length of time. Not enough accounts opened long enough for a credit history" might be a bit of a hurdle to overcome absent any other solid revolving history, besides the BoA card.
“When do you think is a good time to apply for the CSR?”
One year from now.
“Sufficient length of time” , and “opened long enough” both appear in your reason for denial. That is not an indicator you should reapply in a few months.
OP my suggestion is to not try and recon again. IMHO, your file has been tagged with a notation, “applicant won’t take no for an answer.”
You have opened 4 accounts since June. And since your trip is not until Feb, this gives you 6 months to let your cards age.
OK I won't attempt another recon for the Hyatt card. But I would try for the CSR in Dec or Jan. The reason I'm being aggressive with my applications is because I plan to travel abroad for 5 months straight starting from Feb. Just trying to accumulate as much miles and points as I can as well as getting the CSR for unlimited Priority Pass. If time wasn't a constraint, I'd have taken it much more slowly.
Besides cooling off for a few months until the end of the year. What other things can I do to increase my chances with Chase? Should I open a checking account with them? Putting more spend on my existing Chase cards? In-branch pre-approvals? Just a side question about in-branch pre-approvals, last time I came into a new Chase branch and ask for pre-approval, the banker told me she couldn't check that but only be able to put in an application. Not sure if they were new and didn't know or I asked the wrong questions. What is your approach exactly for asking in-branch pre-approvals?
OP, you asked us what to do and the overwhelming response is to wait. Applying again in Jan or Dec is not cooling off. Just my 2cents.
Your letter said "Too many active accounts or too many available credit. Too few accounts on file for a sufficient length of time. Not enough accounts opened long enough for a credit history." IMHO, I believe you would get the same response again.
Please understand that time is your friend. And it doesnt matter why you’re being aggressive. Also understand your tactic can be seen as aggressive credit seeking, and it could possibly “backfire” with AA from Chase or Barclays. It’s just a thought to keep in the back of your mind.
In-bank approvals can work for those with a banking relationship but it’s still no guarantee for approval. I believe those with a stronger credit profile definitely benefit from going to a branch. But IMO, the reasons given to you for denial would be the same whether in-branch or not. The only thing that can overcome this denial is time.
