Afternoon. My wife has a BK from 2010, which included Chase. Since 2010, she has added two Capital One QS cards, Barclay Rewards, Care Credit, and just last week Discover IT. The accounts post BK are about 3 years olds, except for the Discover and all include perfect payment history. I also added her to my three Chase cards and most of my other accounts as an AU since 2014.
Here FICO Score 8's are as follows;
EQ: 677
TU: 678
EX: 697
She applied for the Chase Marriott today and received the following message;
"We'll let you know our decision in writing as soon as we can. If we approve your application, you'll receive your card in the mail in 7-10 business days. Please don't resubmit your application. Thanks for choosing Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card."
I have searched the forums and see mixed results in regards to this message. Some were approved, others were denied. Some we able to recon with positive results. Regardless, I am trying to determine her next move. Should she call the "Credit Analyst - Recons" number and ask if there is anything they need for the application OR should she set tight and wait for the denial letter or possible approval?

Don't call just hang out grab some popcorn and chill if you call a analyst they will see the bad account and prolly decline you on the spot just let the app run its course I'm waiting myself
Thanks for the response. What is your scenario like and did you receive the same message? Good luck.

Did your wife check the Chase Pre-Qual site? I am curious because Chase has a long memory and if she IIB Chase, I am surprised they did not auto-decline on the spot.
you can call the "application status" line but do not call and talk to someone unless you are getting asked for verification call... you can talk to them! no lending!

Yep, not calling anyone. I am just going to sit tight and wait for the system to run it's course.
Agreed. Chase is strange. I applied for the Marriot business card and it went to pending 2 days ago. They called me this evening and the lady said verify your cell phone number and I will send you a text.
So whilst on the call, I got the text and read it back to her. She then said hold on and after a few minutes said you are approved. So I am wondering if they are now going to be calling for verification instead of an applicant calling in.
This is the first time ever this has happen. So if it goes to verification, they may call your wife.

Any update on your wife's application?

Just called the application status line and it still indicates the application is being reviewed and that you will be notified within 7-10 business days in writing. I have read that the 7-10 day message is a denial. I am not sure if anyone has seen an approval with that message. If denied, I will have her recon.
