At this time, I can't justify the CSR - we don't travel enough. Although in 3-5 years, this might change. I plan to snag my own freedom one day, and we'll be able to pool our UR points. I'd rather have the higher increase too, but the rewards need to offset the AF.

The way I calculate the AF is against "expected valuation" not "current valuation".

So if the CSP has an AF of $95, I don't NEED to earn $95 in cash, I just need to earn $95 in "expected valuation".  If it earns me say 40,000 URs on spend in a year, it could be $400 in cash to offset the $95 right now, or I can book it as $600 in expected valuation if I bank the points for a future CSR PC.

For me, I'd rather have $600 later than $400 now but I know CSR would work for me.

In your case, 3-5 years doesn't make sense for just a 20% increase.  I wouldn't bank URs except towards getting CSP if it's in 1-2 years because 25% increase in valuation is worth waiting 2 years for, not 3-5 though!

I have no way to predict travel right now due to toddler. 3-5 years is my best guess. We like to do a car trip to the coast once a year, but that's about it. As relatives age, I'm predicting we'll be flying out to see  them in the coming years. Assuming UR points don't expire, the DH has had them for at least 2-3 years at this point. Maybe longer.

Re: Chase Offers -- desktop, iOS, Android?

I am seeing the same offers from the app, mobile web and desktop page from my iPad.

It’s just interesting that offers popped up today all of a sudden. There is now a button/link within the app to check for prequalified offers (which isn’t simple to find navigating through the Chase page anymore). Apparently there are no offers for me, BUT when I now click my offers link, there is a Slate and CSP offer even though I just qualified for the FU in October that put me at 5/12... 🤔

Re: Chase Offers -- desktop, iOS, Android?

I went into my local Chase branch to open my Business Checking Account. Once that was complete the banker told me I was pre-approved for both the Ink Preferred and Ink Cash. I told her I would come see her in a few months about one of those because I wanted to know about my CSP offer I saw online.

She didn’t specifically say she saw a pre-approved offer similar to what I saw in my online account / app, but she read me the terms and we submitted the app. Just like my FU a few months ago, they called a credit department and put me on the phone with someone that said they wanted to verify my identity or some details. They didn’t ask me any questions, I think they just wanted to look over the app and confirm that I did put in the application at the branch. I was on hold for no more than 2 minutes. The person came back and said I’ve been approved for a $5,000 SL and should receive my card in 7 - 10 business days.
