After my recent applications with them I really think being enrolled and having accumulated points with the Chase partner, whether it be Marriott, United, or whoever, will affect your approval chances and your likely credit line. Before I got the whopping approval on the United Club cardd recently I had racked up the sign up bonus on Explorer and moved my sign up bonus on the Sapphire Preferred to United Miles. I have had a huge history with Marriott's rewards program spanning ten years, which would help explain the approvals on those two cards. My only regular card with them, the CSP, was approved for only $5k and I applied for that when I had pre-approvals for Slate and Freedom and had just gotten the United Explorer Card at 9K. I moved $4k of Explorer limit to CSP. But they gave me two Marriot Cards after that for a total of $14k and then after the sign up bonus transfers another $15K on the United Club card.
I know we are all just guessing here, but I really think I am on to something for those that are interested in Chase Partner cards.

Doubtful.
I got my highest Chase starting line with the Ritz-Carlton and I had no prior relationship with them.
Well, hmmm, Nixon...then how does Chase operate? I really can't figure it out.
Seeme like each card you get approved for by them you get a higher limit... only have two but holds true for me and for most other posts I have read... Ritz was Nixon's last and he got his higest limit.. Granted he had a freedom in middle of the mex with his lowest? limit.. Most part as Chase sees a bit of history maybe they give out higher and higher limits?
I dunno Nixon, I got some mailers from Marriott about 2 months ago after racking in 8000 Marriott points in Aug (all from work paying for hotels for out of town training) with my scores in the very low 600s. Who knows what my Chase internal score was but this was before even having my Freedom card, let alone checking prequals. Maybe Marriott saw the points, Chase ran a SP and they all shrugged their shoulders thinking what the hell he seems nice and it couldn't get much worse ![]()

LOL!
My Chase approvals were as follows: Exploerer-9K, CSP-$5k, Marriott-9K, Ritz-5K, Club-$15K. I moved limits around...Had a pattern going then no pattern. I have also seen others say on the forum that it is better to apply from a partner website and they do get some data from the partner as they prepopulate the app...who knows?
How long in between Chase apps B-Rad? Thanks!

b-rad,
The funny thing about patterns...if you look for them you can usually find them. Even if they are not there.
Believe me i find them everywhere. Lol
I have read comments from finstar that it is more driven by what risk capital and profile the partner wants to use and with chase it is their own capital at risk and this plays a greater role along with your internal score. Hope that helps fwiw
Current Score: EX 712 4/28/15, TU 713 4/14/14 lender pull, EQ 723 9/16/15, 740 EQ bankcard 8 6/1/15 lender pull

Is the partner actually taking the loss if someone defaults or Chase? Always wondered this.
