I had been in the garden for just about a year but had been waiting for the Chase Pre Qual and finally got the Freedom and Slate. I had Chase close an account on me in 2010 but I brought it current and paid it in full in 2014. I just app'd and got the "your response needs further review before making a decison." UGH!
Is it possible that it is because my old card was in my nickname and I applied with my full name?? eg; Elizabeth versus Betty???? Or am I toast and wasted a hard pull??
my scores are Fico 8; EQ 701, TU 703, EX 714... i have somewhat high utilization..... ugh ugh ugh
What timeframe did it give for a response?
For your app status, you can call CS (800) 346-5538 wait press 1-3-1 enterssn
It said "our goal is to notify you in writing within 10 days, but could take up to 30.." I just called and it said "you application is under review and you will be notified in 7-10 days" ugh I'm assuming that is a denial.... lesson learned... back to the garden until 10/16...
Sorry to hear that. Usually their pre qual is gold. It could still be a idenity problem though.
I myself, feel that companies should not pre qual those they want to blackball over past accounts. does not seem fair. Good Luck
Automated phone 7-10 days usually isn't a good thing, but still can yield an approval possibly. You didnt have any CB's froozen correct? Also you haven't opened more than 5 cards in the last 2 years correct? (or that is an auto denial for the freedom/slate/csp). Applying with high utilization isn't typically a good thing to do either. Your scores are fine though for any of the Chase cards. Wishing you luck on the approval!

Spot on CC. I forgot about the 5 account in 2 years trap at Chase.
No frozen CB's... and yes I opened a bunch last October.. add the numb skull... for the trifecta of what not to do when trying for Chase...
Although a word of caution to others I tried the pre-qual link for my 21 yr old son who is a student with no credit history and a part time job and got pre qualified for the same (freedom and slate). I didn't go all the way through... I figured he really didn't have a shot.. but he does have an checking account with them.

Interesting
You are not a numbskull. These things happen. Barclay's did it to me, and I was pissed. Hopefully it will only be a single HP.
Thanks... to round it out.. In NY they pulled TU which before today had ZERO inquiries.
