Chase - Pre approved but over 5/24

Currently I'm 6/24, but I've just check my Chase Credit Journey and noticed that I'm approved for lots of their cards.

Do you think it would be really possible to be approved if I apply? I'm afraid of being denied even with these approved offers...

Short answer is that data points do exist that demonstrate one can fail the Chase 5/24 test and still be approved.

Did you add any new accounts within say the last 3 months or so?  These approvals would have been based on your credit profile from when they did the screening to generate them, if for example you were under 5/24 3 months ago but had new accounts reporting since than such that pushed you over 5/24 the reliabilty of these approvals could be impacted.

[Wny are you afraid of a denial?]

There are approvals for lol/24 for the Chase Amazon Prime card.

However. with the core cards the 5/24 is more likely enforced.

Right now is a decent time to apply for the Chase Amazon if interested.

Yes, I recently added 3 new accounts (April, May and June) - WF Autograph, Amex Delta and Hilton.

I'm afraid of a denial and get a HP for nothing (because I know I'm over 5/24)

I mean, if you aren't planning on applying for anything beyond Chase in the near future I wouldn't say its a HP for nothing. There are no guarantees even with preapproval. Smiley Wink But in your case with all the recent new accounts...I wouldn't have high expectations. You never know though. Do you absolutely need a specific Chase card right now? If not, waiting is probably best.

DP: I was recently denied for the World of Hyatt card for being at 5/24 (I was approved recently for CIU w/o issue). When I called to ask for recon they said they were not allowed to recon for applicants over 5/24.
