Chase Prequalified Offer - Now Pending (Update: Approved!)

Hello dear forum! I am totally confused right now. As of Nov 1st, I am officially 4/24. I have checked Chase offers almost weekly and never had anything under Credit Journey offers or the prequalified site. Tonight, I decided to check the prequalified site again and for the first time in 5(!) years, it says that I have 4 offers available: Freedom Unlimited, Freedom Flex, Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Flex. All with fixed APR.

I applied for the Sapphire Preferred and I got a decision pending message? "We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible. Thank you for choosing the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card."

Now what? My scores are well into 700's, my util is 3%, I had a Chase Amazon since 5 years, been banking with them since June 2020. As of Nov 1st, I am 4/24. Should I call or wait?

Called 888-338-2586 to check status through the automated system. Received message that I will get a decision in 2 week. So, I guess .. I wait. I was hoping for an instant approval since they finally served up some offers, but I guess nothing is easy these days Smiley Wink

Try 888-271-2127 for personal credit recon.

Don't give up that easy. It's not necessarily a bad thing; sometimes it's the algorithm that might need a second eye in underwriting. Otherwise, scores and Util are pretty healthy. I've heard different stories about what counts toward 5/24, including strictly 5 credit cards or any combination of 5 revolving credit accounts on your CR. Then again, I got approved for the CSP on 6/24 not too long ago, but with an existing Chase banking relationship, high deposits and decent income. Anything is possible.

My 2 cents, let them work on it, check the 1-800 ROBO LADY every few days,

Could be just manual review, could be just "Verification"??

Prepare ahead of time for a Recon speech, if? it goes there.

Good luck and may the odds be in your favor.

Re: Chase Prequalified Offer - Now Pending (Update: Approved!)

The most crazy surprise! I logged into my Chase account before heading to bed and saw that under "Credit Cards" it had 2 accounts listed (I only have the Amazon Prime card). Checked the details, and the new Sapphire Preferred was listed with a whooping credit line of $16,500. I could not believe it. This is my highest credit line to date, after Amex BCP at $16k.

To be honest, I am still blown away by this. I have been rebuilding my credit since beginning of the year, had my Amazon card with Chase for more than 4 years. I just started banking with Chase in June, running about 12k / month through them. I was working towards an approval for another Chase card since beginning of this year. So pumped!

I am off to the garden for a long time Smiley Happy

A 2 week Robolady notice doesn't point to verification, it essentially means approval was recommended pending final signoff.

Congrats on the approval, OP! I'm sure you'll put those UR points to good use once they start rolling in. Feel free to share the good news in the Approval section if you'd like.
