Chase Recon Question

I hope this is the correct place to post this if not please move. I applied for a Chase Southwest Credit Card on May 17th I received a denial letter yesterday stating bankruptcy as the reason, so I called the back door number and ask them to reconsider. I spoke to a really nice lady who said we could, she asked me my info again and made sure to clarify income a couple times as I told her that i included a part of my husbands as well she said that was fine and actually updated the income to include his full amount, she drilled me on my credit report (I knew to be ready for those questions) I answered them honestly and some other questions and she said she was sending it thru to another department and said I would receive a letter I think or hear something in one to two weeks. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so what was the outcome? I have searched these forums for about 2 hrs today trying to answer my own question and couldn't find a situation similar to mine at all. When I got off the phone with her about an hour later I called the automated status line and the recording changed to 2 week message from the 7-10 day message it was still saying even after I received my denial. Thanks in advance for any input you may have

Re: Chase Recon Question

I don't have experience with the 7-10 day message at all, but I got denied for the Amazon Chase Visa, then got approved on recon while on the phone. It was a 40 minute call and I was honest about my BK and how it got to that point. The nice CSR put me on hold a few different times, and finally came back and said they could only approve me for $500, but it was music to my ears.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, rebuildinprogress!!! Smiley Happy
