I applied for the Freedom Flex I had a Freedom in 2014 that eventually was charged off in 16 or 17 I think. I was denied a few weeks ago but couldn't recon until today. I spoke with a lovely CSR who transfered me to another very sweet lady.
She asked about 2 accounts I have (one paid, one unpaid) and my income. I've been working so hard on fixing my past mistakes. I told her to use the 70k though I probably could claim more due to overtime.
After several holds she said it needs further review, and I will know in a week or two. After this, my rebuilding is done either way for a while. Now to get my sapling. Fingers crossed.
Was the charge off paid? Chase has a loooong memory.
No. So I don't have high hopes. Okay, I do..... but I know it might be a long shot. However, they didn't mention it in recon.
Best of luck. Have you called the app status line? 800-432-3177. What does robolady say?
Unfortunately I'm not sure the chances with a prior charge off with Chase, but sending you all the luck!
I recently went thru this process with a CSP and it took exactly 2 weeks to get approval.. but I didn't burn chase at all.

Thank you for the luck. I'll need it. Robo bot says 7-10 days, so probably a no. Recon lady said 1 to 2 weeks.
Still owing? Ouch. Best of luck!
Nothing is stopping you from following up before the 2 weeks. I recently did a Chase app for someone else with a POA and was initially declined. I called back and was told there would be time while they are reconsidering it. I ended up being declined again. The third time I called into the recon I pled the case again, expressed that I just wanted to be part of the Chase ecosystem, and stated that I understood that they may be concerned about risk so I would understand if it were only a few hundred for a starting limit, that I just was asking for an opportunity. A day later, it was approved. It was only $500 with near-max APR and zero cash advance capabilities, but I was just happy to be able to get them in. Everything else can be built upon from there.
I am not saying it was a particularly similar case with this annecdote; rather, I just wanted to highlight that calling frequently (those calls were only a day apart) does not necessarily cause any harm. Also, I was informed by them that the recon is usually only available for about a month before they make you re-apply. So, if you have already waited a few weeks before initiating the process, after waiting for snail mail rejection to get to you, you may not have any recourse from that point.
Bottom line: unless they expressly asked me not to, I would continue to call and follow up with the process. Just my humble opinion. Good luck!
Probably not a bad idea. My inquiry hit 4/29 so the clock is ticking.
I had a Wasington Mutual card that Chase bought and charged off. Took me 12 years to get back in.
Good luck
Update: they told me to take a long walk off a short pier. The old negative was one of the reasons this time. Guess my next step is trying to pay it and try again next year.
