So I have pre-quals for Chase Freedom, Slate and CSP.. going to go for the Freedom and possibly Slate next week when some updates hit my report.
My question is.. if for whatever reason I am given a low CL, is it possible to recon asking for a higher one?
I have heard many recon stories but really only from people who were denied, then called the reconsideration line for a second chance at approval. What about calling to ask for an increased CL? Would they require another pull if they just did one for the approval?
Thanks

You can, but they will likely do another HP and it seems like they don't usually budge on the starting limits.
+1.
I was approved for the Slate with a SCL of $500. I called to recon in order to get a higher CL but was unsuccessful. I ended up PC'ng the card to the FU 60 days after getting the card. A few months later I was later approved for three Ritz Carlton and the Hyatt with SCL of $8.5k each. So I moved $3k from the Hyatt to the FU.

Thanks for the data points. I just got my FU in the mail yesterday with the $500 SL and was considering a recon but I think I'll hold off if I'm to suffer an HP anyway... How long was your credit history when you got the Ritz Carlton and the Hyatt? Three of the four negatives Chase listed for my CR were due to length of history (under 24 months, under 12 months, oldest credit line too young). (The other was "you have low limits".) I'm thinking about the CSP in 6 months or so if my shot is good then I'll PC it to Freedom or something before the year and move some CL to the FU.

AAoA was 6 years.
You can. It'll be another hard pull and chase is stingy especially with the slate. I just got my mom set up with a slate. 3.5k was increased to only 5k. Better than nothing and she didn't mind the hard pull.
I recon'd a Chase limit when I got one of my cards and ended up with 2 EX and 1 TU (5 total counting the dbl pull for approval) and was denied. I did get an auto CLI a few months later but they weened me off CLI requests instantly, lol.

Then you have me beat... With the FU I'm down to 4 months.
You can recon but as others mentioned it is usually another HP and Chase analysts are tough. Probably best to just leave it alone and build some history, then request a CLI later.
