Chase Reconsideration 2 week message now 7-10 days under review

Chase denial / Reconsideration Line / 2 week message Applied for the CSP, and instantly got declined. The letter arrived, and the only denial reason was my discharged BK13. I was going to just let it go and try again when the BK fell off my reports next year, but decided to recon after reading some of the posts here. The first rep was no help, and told me to call TU (?). I hung up and called back. This time I got a gentlemen that gave me the denial reason, and asked if I'd like to speak to a recon rep. He advised that they could possibly do a second HP......I'm gardening after this anyway, so I took a chance. The recon rep asked about AU accounts, income, and then told me I'd be notified in 2 weeks. So far I'm still getting the 2 week message and no second HP. Not sure if it's another denial, but I was happy that it was being reconsidered instead of an instant decline for a second time. I'll update later...... Update: 2 week message just changed today : Application is being reviewed / notified in writing within 7-10 business days. Ah well....probably a denial, but I will update with the final decision.

I hope it works out for you. I'm still new at this but I'm surprised a company like Chase would approve a card such as CSP to anybody that has a BK on their credit reports. I was under the impression that's "taboo". But again, I'm new so maybe I'm wrong.

If it doesn't work out, no biggie. I'll put heavy use on my Amex and try again later, that is unless I decide not to "chase" them anymore....lol. If nothing else, hopefully the DP will help someone.

what alot of people are forgetting is that with higher interest rates, the banks have a lot to gain for taking risk on riskier credit profiles (pun intended). 

instead of approving fair cards at 20%, they are approving almost all cards at 30%+ like the CSP being 28.49 or higher for many people. ten years ago, my CSP was 15.24%.. I think it's closed now but still reporting luckily as in good standing. 

that said, these banks dont wanna leave money on the table when this is the first time we've had high inflation and decent interest rates for risk taking in almost 20 years. 

if the banks dont approve credit card customers in a flush with cash environment and high rate environment, they leave money on the table!

@Picklespete  they were ultimately denied for the CSP but earlier this month Chase appoved them for the Amazon Visa.

I've been MIA for a minute, but the previous post was correct. I was approved for Amazon Prime Visa later....$10k SL. All reports clear of BK, and scores are up. What a difference a year makes. EQ 799 TU 797 EX 794
