Chase Review

Hi all- I have posted before about questions regarding if I would qualify for Chase. I was going to wait but ran out of patience and applied for Bonvoy Boundless ( I travel a lot for work and Marriott is my hotel of choice).

Prior to applying I linked my accts to Chase and moved 1/2 my direct deposit over just so I can show in a minimalistic way that I am working on building relations with them.

I applied and inputted my info ( I moved about three months ago), my income , bonvoy #.

I got a note back saying " we will let you know of our decision in writing as soon as we can. Our email or letter will detail how to provide additional information if needed".

What does this mean?

I scheduled a meeting with Chase locally to discuss - in case they need to verify my identity and will bring W2 and copy of my digital pay stubs etc.

Immediately got pinged that I had hard inquiries - they pulled Ex and TU- I am right around 800 on both with no baddies.

Anyone have any insight here?

Your application would be under manual review, which is not unusual. It isn't unusual for Chase to double-pull nowadays either.

Call the Chase application status number at 800-432-3117 to have the robolady report on the status of your application. If you get a 30 day or 14 day status update it means that the review process is still ongoing, if you get a 7-10 message it typically either means that they either need to verify that it was really you who applied for the card (yet again, not unusual) or an upcoming denial.

If you get a 7-10 day message you can click through to talk to a live agent and ask if there is anything they need from you to help move the application along. If it's a verification issue they can often take care of it right then, if it's a denial you can ask to talk to an analyst for a reconsideration of the denial.

Cold fusion - wanted to thank you - I called the number and they wanted to verify it was me , put me on hold for 2 min and came back with $5000 approval. I know this is the minimum SL for this card but is a huge win in my book.
