Chase Sapphire Application Question

I applied for a Chase Sapphire CC. I received an email from them asking me to upload a copy of my Drivers License to verify my idenity. I uploaded the DL and they said they could not read it and told me to take it down to a local branch and have them send a copy so I went to my local Chase branch and provided my DL. They also told me to call the Fraud Department so they could verify my identiy. When I called they verified my identiy via text message. The rep then tells me she cannot complete the application and I need to go to my local branch in person and have someone from the bank call the reconsideration department with me present to complete the application. Has anyone ever heard of this before? They already pulled my EX report with a score of 820. I have no inquires except chase in 2 years. Why would she ask me to go down to the bank and have someone call reconsideration with me present at the bank? This doesn't make since to me. Should I call someone else in Chase support?

Fraud is rampant these days, financial institutions are being extra careful.  From my perspective, you'd be pretty unhappy if a fraudster was successful in opening a chase account with your name and SSN; Chase is being careful because something, somewhere, must have spooked them; just comply with their requests and all will be well.

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Re: Chase Sapphire Application Question

Chase is protecting you and itself. The next visit to the bank, I'd have SL, and SS card. Better to be prepared. If not approved ask what else is needed. Good luck!

Sounds like they are telling you exactly what you need to do.

If you still want the card, does it really matter why?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
