I have a Chase Freedom Unlimited that will be 3 months old next weekend, and i been with Chase for 8 years Checking and Savings account. When i first applied for the CFU, i had pre-approvals for both Freedoms, Sapphire & Reserve because of my relationship. Would it be too soon to try for the CSP ? I know my score is in the lower range but have seen people approved in the mid 600s.
Way too soon.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred requires a minimum credit limit of $5,000
Which means you have to be someone they'll feel comfortable giving that credit limit. Yet based on your sig, your highest CL is $500, which is the minimum for the Freedom Unlimited. They barely approved you for 1/10th what you need for the CSP.
Build your credit score, get some cards with $5,000+ limits, and then maybe.
Right i think it would be better atleast getting a limit $1000+ card before Chase can trust me with the CSP.

Please don't. Look at me, apped for CFF like 5 months after my 1st secured CO and got a measly 500. 6 months and still no auto CLI. What's the use of peanut SL. You really want a higher SL believe me. App at least after your score get to 700. Better yet, mid 700s. Unless you just wanna get it fast, regardless of SL
That is much too soon, and would likely be a waste of a HP.
Stick with the FU card for now, and after a while you can try for the CSP. There is a chance this might have been one of the times a pre-qualification would have led to a denial on the CSP. If they only extended a $500 SL, I don't see how they would approve a card with a minimum SL of $5,000.
If you're good with the card, sometimes chase will give you an automatic increase, so eventually maybe you get to $5k and do a product change. But you can probably get approved for it normally much faster, especially once you get your ficos over 700.
Just don't hit chase up for CLI in the attempt to get to $5,000 on the FU, they will almost always hard pull for an increase, so if you're going that route just apply for the CSP when the times comes.
Good luck!

WILL always*
This thread has a lot of good info regarding Chase.
I'm currently sitting in the garden before I apply for one of my goal cards (Chase Sapphire Reserve). Hopefully my patience doesn't run out!

The CS Reserve has an even higher minimum credit limit, $10,000:
