Chase Sapphire Preferred Approvals ODDS??

Hi all,

After getting the Freedom in October 2017 and the CFU recently in May 2018, I feel ready to apply for the CSP within the next 6 months!

What approval odds do you expect with the following data points? I have new-ish credit and my most recent account was the CFU opened in May. I was thinking of waiting until December or later to apply for the CSP but wanted to see if these DPs were good enough.

EX FICO 792
AAoA - 1 year 9 months (will grow before I apply)
Oldest individual account - 2 years 3 months
5 inq on EX but 3 dropping off in 60 days
No derogs, clean file
UTIL - 0-2% always! Never above that amount
1 installment - Auto loan 60% paid off
INCOME: $48K

I opened the CF and CFU ago build a relationship with Chase and UR collection. I also have a Chase Checking and Savings although there isn’t much in them.

I know nobody here can know for sure how they will underwrite but based on these data points how likely is a CSP approval?

Also take note that my current Chase exposure is $6,500! 5K on one card 1.5K on the other.

Thanks!!

With those data points I think you have a great chance at approval... The history you have with chase makes it even greater.......Smiley Happy

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred Approvals ODDS??

OP those are some good data points you have provided and it seems like you are within the 5/24 I don’t know how to link other posts but I did a post about the CSR and I was 46 inquiries in with 22 new accounts 24 months and I went to the branch and got pre approvals with fix apr and got it for 20,500 so hopefully that may give you an insight. But keep us posted and let us know what is going on!

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred Approvals ODDS??

Do you guys think I’m overexposed by having 2 Chase cards already? I don’t want Chase to decline me because my most recent accounts were with them. By the time I apply my Freedom would be over 1 year old however.

When would be a good time to apply? Thanks for all the help!

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred Approvals ODDS??

OP—Based on the information you’ve provided, I do not think you will have a problem getting approved for a CSP. As always, nobody can give you a guarantee, but you DPs appear solid and although your credit is somewhat new, you have a relationship with Chase and are over the 1 year AAoA that seems to be somewhat of a litmus test for Chase.
