Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred - Declined, even after calling number

I didn't call the analyst number so thanks for that suggestion, I will most certainly try that route next!

Very intersting, from that profile I shouldn't have too much trouble getting it. Thanks for the insight.

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred - Declined, even after calling number

Called again and they still claimed the age of my accounts are not old enough. I have a feeling it's from my newest NFCU card on my account that is hurting me.

They have the ability within reason to override the system.. so yes depending on the analyst, but somethings they can't override...  Still makes no sense on other stuff I ahve seen recently with their approvals or people with no history.. You would be correct the newest cards is probably what they are referrring to.

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred - Declined, even after calling number

I don't know if your interested but your nRewards that has been open for 2.5 years should be at 25k allready. I would hit the love button and when your other card is 3 months old I would ask for 25K for it as well..  If not approved they will counter.  You can also ask for NavChek for 15K and you should be approved with your scoresSmiley Happy

My appolgies, I thought I included that.

They denied for age of accounts.

You can try once or twice more and maybe get an analyst that might be willing to overturn it...  Ya Chase typically likes to see a year, but obviously that isn't always the case as other people make the Freedom or CSP there first card, so kinda double standards.  No one really knows what chase is really looking for to be quite honest.  Worth another recon or two imo.. If not, try once your accounts get a year old if the recons are declined.

agreed, I thought I read someone with a 6 month history got approved for a 7000 line unless I read it wrong.  Recon, Recon, Recon.  It doesn't make sense for them to not approved you.

Someone yesterday with no credit history other then AU user on parents account got freedom and csp for 7k each... blew my mind and only a college student.. What he.she put for income I have no clue as it really doesn't add up.  Anyways, deffinetly recon

lol, that was me. I have $35k in income, so I have no idea why you wouldn't be approved. My approval could have been something of a fluke, although I have seen a few others with the Freedom as their first card, albeit with lower limits. Good luck with the recon!

Nothing personal, still just blew my mindSmiley Happy.. 35k is alot more then I thought a college student would make though, good for you!.  I make over 100k and got approved for 4k with 1% util...Go figure, although I do have a questionable credit past although quite a big file.  So obviously they liked you!  Only if I knew what I knew in college what I know now lol

Most of the income is in the form of VA education benefits for room and board, which are deposited to my bank account so count as income for the card companies, but isn't actually.
