I also found it kinda funny that there were kids in the background while the CSR was talking to me. I guess after hours they do it from home on the reconsideration line?
Playing HUCA with Chase does occasionally lead to a positive outcome but it is uncommon. Maybe you can try the argument that they had extended to you an unsolicited preapproval but I'm only speculating as to whether that would have a positive influence.
The least I can do is try I guess. Any ideas as to what I should say this time?
@Beast26 This was in Dec. Its worth a shot but state your case that you do not have more than 5/24 as the other accounts you have are store accounts unless the account is closed and not in your signature. But mom had to go to a supervisor and say that the account is only store use and im sure they can look online and see that just by googling it. Also what coldfusion said you received a preapproval and thought it would be a great chance for you to grow your chase relationship. Keep us updated!
Ok I'll try it tomorrow. So what I will do is ask for a supervisor like you said and explain that those are store accounts which put me less than 5/24. Also throw in there that it said I was already approved which was a great chance to grow with chase.
Ok I have one question also. Can you get approved if you are already 5/24 or do you technically have to be below 5/24?
@Beast26 Playing HUCA on the recon line worked for me with my Freedom Flex last week.
I wasn't over 5/24, but I had an in branch pre-approval before being instantly denied.
I'd say give it a shot. You don't have anything to lose.

Sorry. So much for the prevailing wisdom here that preapprovals override 5/24.

That's probably working from home due to Covid.

That makes sense! Probably would be a waste asking for a supervisor then.
Taking another stab at it will only cost you a little time and the cost of the phone call.
