Chase Sapphire Preferred is it time to apply yet?

So here's some quick info:

Discover card: Jan 2014 (I had to get a new card and number recently because someone tried to steal my identity, idk if  this matters) $800 limit

Chase Freedom: Apr 2015 $2500 limit

As of 8/3/15 my FICO was 745 as reported by discover

Mint is giving me a 744 score

I've never made a late payment etc...

So what do you guys think? is it a good time to apply for a CSP

Let me know if more info is needed and thanks

What are you different Fico scores? Are they all about the same?

Have you gone to Chase's site to see what you prequalify for?

From the basics you have given it sounds like you have a good chance assuming you havent gotten 5 new cards in the last two years and your income supports it and all your scores are > 700

Amazon is more likely your way in with Chase for card number 2 with those stats. I would guess a starting line of $2,000 to $2,500 which should grow in 6 months.

Thanks for the input, but I'm not just getting a new card for the sake of it. I want the CSP because of the travel points and I can rotate it well with my other 2 cards. I'd look at places other than chase if I had to get some more history with new cards

Check their pre-qualifier first, although if you just got the Freedom a few months ago their pre-qualifier might not work for you. I personally think you have a good chance as long as you haven't gotten more than 5 cards in the past 2 years.

Nope. The only cards I've ever had are there in the post. Discover did do a hard pull without my permission oddly though, It was a long time ago I believe. I think It was a browser or internet issue that caused it when I was checking if I could get a CLI without a hard pull.

I think your scores are too low for the moment for CSP. If this is the card you truly want, you could app for it and see what happens and if that will not work just PC to a CSP (but you'll lose the sign up bonus).

You think a 745 is too low for a CSP? I don't think so.

OP I say go for it if it's a card you really want. Your chances are pretty good!

Re: Chase Sapphire Preferred is it time to apply yet?

What do you know I got a prequalified offer for the CSP and slate!

Does that mean I will pretty much be approved?

I see that the special offer is spending $4000 in the 1st 3 months, but I could'nt imagine I'd be spending that much for quite a bit. I am a student with his regular bills, but I also live at home...I've been looking for a new job for forever, one that is worth leaving at least, So I can move out. My point is I'm not sure I'm that big of a spender, I have come close the that before I'm sure, however regularly I proabably will not reach that mark...wait for a time when the bonus is a definite?

It's my understanding that the CSP gives me better travel perks which I want as soon as I can and I would get more points using it in general
