Chase Slate Application

I apped last night after looking at the prequal site and for the first time got a 7-10 day message.  They pulled TU today.  The automated message still says being reviewed.  Is this likely a denial?  I am about to pay my college loans off and my AAoA is going to tank so I wanted a third Chase card before that happened.

Most likely just a verification issue. Try giving them a call tomorrow at 888-245-0625 Good luck!

Your AAoA will not tank simply because you will pay off your loans. (I hope you realize this.) It will only be affected years from now when they age off.

Well thanks for the info.  The student loans have been reporting for 16 years.  My first credit card was obtained in July 2014.  I thought once my college loans were paid in full that I would be looking at 3 months of AAoA.  I know things report 10 years after being closed but I thought 16 years of an open account getting shut would affect my (open) AAoA.  I am single, car is paid for and I owe no rent payments.

Just checked the Chase prequalified site again and the Slate is still showing up.

I called in answered a few questions and then got DENIED!  Was very understandable.  I haven't even had my first Chase card a month yet.  Paid the CSP in full (due date is 4/18/2015).  Freedom payment isn't due until 4/18/2015.

Give it a few months and try it again. I'd wait about two or three.
