@Teri444,
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about the denial. With Chase you have up to 30 days to overturn a decision. So your best option will be to have the charge off remove to re-apply or have Chase pull a fresh report showing the charge of has been removed.
How many inquiries are we talking about here though if you don't mind me asking?

Talking to a TU rep earlier, they said that any changes to my credit report can take up to 30-45 days to show. Inquiries on TU are 5. Thanks for the response!
You are welcome. This is what I will do if I were in your shoes. I'd fight to get the charge of removed and not apply for anything, at the same time letting the inquiries age a bit and then once you see it removed, give the Chase Slate card a go again.
What do you think of this plan?

These forums have been nothing but helpful and I appreciate all the feedback!!
I am very new to credit, I had a Jared card that I used once and then PIF just to turn around and closed it(cheap jewelry retailing 200%+ markup ) I actually got it during a promo and had no interest after it. That was 2013. I haven't had any other TL since then. I finally graduated college and thought I would be a "big girl" and move onto the world of adult responsibilties!!😁 I've been an AU on my parents accts(BTW they have immaculate credit history) for 3 years, and when I applied for a comenity card (VS) I got approved for $250 - eh.. I figured. But I applied for the chase slate card and received an online msg stating they were reviewing the info and will contact Me. Fast forward to today, I received the letter and it states due to high # of inquiries and previous charge off acCT I was denied. Red flag for me, I checked my CR -all 3 and it shows the Jared acCT as charged off and a balance of $20. I know I'm going to have to dispute this incorrect reporting, but my question is, can I still recon ? Hopefully this makes sense and I've posted in the right thread. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Charged off is not the same as closed. If it's reporting as a charge off, and you actually closed it, you need to dispute it.
I would also recommend to address the CO but as for Chase I am not sure if that is the right lender to start with. Chase usually likes to see account history of 1 year. There are exceptions with approvals with less than a year history. Are there any other cards your are interested in that would be easier to get than Chase? Cap1 QS for example?
