Chase Slate and Freedom

He has no online prequals.  Checked em all. .  He has been getting mailers for Slate and Freedom, standard promo 0% 15 months BT, APR, and 22.9% after. 

Since there's no online prequal, and mailers are not Invitation to Apply, I don't have an answer whether they're prequals or not. Really. 

He carries balances, and my guess is a 40-60% UTL. I know his 08 is fluctuating 670's from his Disco More card.

Stupid Question:

Does Chase prequal by mail and not online or should both appearing be a better sign?

He's wary since his current APR is 9% on AmEX Blue and Disco and refuses to get a card with "high APR like over 12!"  We discussed he needs a under 30% UTL. I know, a Blue and More card.  It's been awhile since he App'd.

Yea UTIL seems rather high, and the high APR they're offering post-promo period means Chase is weary of him. I'd suggest holding off.

Yeah...thank you Omar.  I thought and mentioned to him that only his high UTL is holding him down.  He could surpass me in leaps and bounds if he brought it down to 10%.

Mine was the same way. I was getting mailers for both and no online pre qual before i had my chase cards. Maybe 2 months after the mailers i would then get online pre quals matched my mailers.
