Chase Slate/application status?

Applied for the Chase Slate on Friday and got the 7-10 day message. When I call the number for status it says "your application is currently under review, you will receive our decision by mail within 7-10 days", is that a denial? I had just applied and been approved for Sallie Mae, and AMEX BCE right before this application.

It's impossible to tell whether it's a denial or not.  Only thing you can do is to wait it out.  Have you added more then 5 accounts in the last 24 months?

^ that would be a yes LOL. I've been through 6 car loans, a motorcycle loan, and added 10 or so cards probably + a mortgage last week :-P I don't know that the 5 account rule is solid though. We added 15 or so to my wife's credit in a year and a half give or take and she was pre approved for slate and received it some months ago.

Guessing that is a 99% chance of a denial.. Just got to wait for the letter, but guessing the 24x5 rule strikes another... Also it appears sometimes if you are pre-approved for Chase branded cards, sometimes you can get past the rule in some cases I have seen; otherwise you are kinda SOL

You can also get denied for simply too many. They can still say no for excessive inquiries and recent accounts. I am AARP free because of this.

Automated line still says "application under review"! Tempted to call a human body, but I'd rather just wait it out and not spook them.

I applied for the Freedom and CSP on Sunday. Approved for the Freedom but stuck in the same boat as you for the CSP. I got the 30 day email but the automated line is stating 7-10 for me too.

Only difference is the Freedom is my 3rd account in 2 years so the CSP would be my 4th. Recent posts I've read from here and other sites state to wait for the letter first before attempting recon... Some are getting approvalso by email, automated line and getting their cards in the mail. Also sometimes these letters are to call in for verification.

I want to call so badly lol but going to wait for that letter. Good luck to us both!

How did you apply for the Sallie Mae? thought the application for that was no longer available?

I got my letter today, denial. Reason was too many accounts in a 2 year period blahhhh
