Chase Status Line

Good Morning

I applied for the Chase Marriot several weeks ago and was declined by mail 3-4 days later, had a busy 2015. Saw a post recently that was someone was declined and then (if I remember correctly) the card popped up on their account page.  I called the status line a few times over the last week or so and mine was saying 7-10. This morning when I called and entered my SSN the message said Please hold while we transfer you to a CS rep, I chickened out and hung up. Anyone had that happen, and what does it mean?

The card showing up on your account page has happened to a few people.  But if it has been 30 days since you received the denial letter, then you have been declined unfortunately hence the 7-10 day message.

Yeah, the inquiry on EX was on 02/16 and the letter was about 4 days after that so I already knew. The oddity was the 7-10 on the status line, and then really miffed when the 7-10 was gone and they were going to transfer me to a CSR this morning.

Did you try to recon at least?

You can try the reconsideration route OP, but if lending sticks to their guns with regard to too many opened accounts/inquiries in X number of months (or whateve they cite as main factors for the decline), it's going to be difficult to overturn that decision.
