What does this mean usually with Chase and any sucess with recon when you get this message? I applied for Chase Aeroplan card and am currnetly 4/24. I got a instant denial next day with the letter in the box. No credit pull. The last chase card I applied was on 12/30/2025 and I applied for this card on 1/27/2026.
Sorry but your 2nd application was too early for Chase by a few days. Generally, Chase wont entertain applications less than 30 days apart.

You've already taken the hard pull. You might as well call the Chase Reconsideration Department.
888-270-2127 and ask to speak to the Reconsideration Department.
A credit analyst has the authority to overrule the computer's decision. Be prepared to explain whatever they ask you. Don't say things like "This is unfair." or "I want the card because it has a huge sign up bonus."
Have a good answer that the bank would want to hear, like how the card's reward structure fits your spending, or if you have a balance transfer you'd like to bring to Chase because you saw a promotional offer and you'd consider opening other banking products with them in the future if they approve you for the card.
Almost nothing is actually a hard rule in Chase recon. 5/24 isn't a hard rule. Also, no bankruptcy wasn't a hard rule. And "Chase lost money on you.' wasn't a hard rule for me. I was over 5/24, had a bankruptcy in 2020, and included Chase on two cards, and they recently approved me on reconsideration, with a bonus, for an Amazon Prime Visa with the elevated $250 SUB!
The Recon Department will start pulling your credit reports again, all of them, but they'll be soft pulls that other lenders can't see which do not damage your credit. If you look, there will be a bunch from Chase at different departments that show up in your soft pulls later, but that's fine. Nobody but Chase will know they did that.
The Prime card is the one exception from Chase's rules @AndrewF .
Hoping OP can recon the
app.
