So i turn 21 in about a week or so here and all my credit card applications i have done, i have listed only my income because i was under 21 and so on.. Well my father is an authorzied user on my marriott card and he usually uses it more then i do because he likes to stay at the marriott. He doesn't qualify for chase because he has a fairly recent bk on his file so that should answer that question. My main question is that im thinking about applying for the united explorer card and adding him since he would use it too. Can i include some of his income since he would be sometimes if not most of the time paying all of the bill? Just trying to get some insight as if this is okay to do or if this is a no no to do on application.. Thanks. ![]()
Not an expert, but i would say you would be more than fine, for the fact that just about any application will ask you to list the available funds to you for making the payments. In your case, if he is picking up his own tab, you would have no problem listing an estimated annual income from your dad as his funds will partially be paying for your card.
Thanks for the insight. i know if your under 21 you cant list anybody elses income but yourself. last year there was around 33K ran through my marriott most of it being my fathers and he always tells me to PIF every month. It was more then my annual income listed and i never heard a peep from chase. they even raised the limit from 6K to 9K Automatically. ![]()
