Hey guys, I have another post about my struggles with verification, but I wanted to make a seperate one for this wierd/peculiar experience.
I got a 30 day message. Got a call from the fraud dept giving me three options for verification:
1. fax in a copy of my DL (5-7 day turnaround)
2. Bring my ID to a branch (4 hour turnaround time)
3. wait for a letter from them in the mail, and then do either of the above two (7-10 days plus above time)
he said once my identity is verified, they can continue processing the application.
my question is: would they go to all this trouble if it was a denial? i got a notification of a HP today so i guess thats a good sign. any thoughts? or has anyone had an experience like this?
Note: i went into the branch yesterday and she scanned my ID in. called this morning. they said they see it but the document not fully processed so call in around lunch. Im crossing my fingers.

It was not a denial.
A lot of people have recently got such 30 day or 7-10 messages on Chase app and it has turned out to be a verification issue at times.
My DW applied for Chase AARP a month ago and she got su7ch a message as well. Next morning she called them and they verified a few facts with her and approved her.
I would say you are probably approved pending your verification.
They could still deny you, first they have to verify your identity so that way they "know" who they are "evaluating"
But I think you should be approved

If you're dealing with Wells Fargo or US Bank, it can really go either way but with Chase, going through verification is nearly as good as an approval. I've had that happen two times and got approved both times too.

+1 .. haven't heard of a case where you wen't through verification then denied... Although I am sure I haven't read every thread regarding chase.
So something interesting:
I apped for CSP the other day (same day as the Ritz) and called in. When I was on the phone with lending dept, he said "we need to complete verification on the Ritz Carlton app first. if you dont want the card after verification is complete, we can continue with the CSP" so that implied that I'll be approved for the Ritz.

When you get to the fraud dept. you have been approved, unless you indeed are not the person applying...

UPDATE: got a call back. APPROVED FOR $5,000. So happy right now. On the CSP app, she denied me due to the new ritz account which is TOTALLY understandable. She said "you qualify for this card but we'd like to see you manage your new card first"
Just ecstatic for the approval. Thanks guys.
Congrats again!
