Chase - What gives?!

Applied for the Hyatt Card, they pulled my 690 EX score from a old HP with the date 03/2018 on the denial letter!

Was going to call recon but decided it was safer to stay under the radar, but I recieved a HP annoying but oh well 😂

Why would you need to stay under the radar? Worst case scenario is you call in and they want to HP a new report.

How much is your credit score now? Is it more than 690?

If you already have alot of credit with that lender and don't want to risk losing it with them due to having alot of credit with other lenders as well most likely.

Yeah, 771 EX as of yesterday..

I utilized my Citicard 87% and my BofA 91%... paid in full, and well a jump in score

Oh yeah, I'd recon in that case.  It can sometimes be an interrogation but as long as your balances have gone down, that should be an easier discussion.

Re: Chase - What gives?!

I called recon about 10 times before I had my Freedom approved back in October. Got my FU through "selected for you" offers and I now have one for the sapphire as well.

Never give up with Chase. Their door is hard to unlock, but once you're in - you're in.

That is, unless they shut you down a few weeks later XD

Just always a risk when applying for Chase card if a person currently has credit cards with them. They are notorious for closing accounts and this is all accounts including none credit accounts. Rumor speculate a team of experts looks into recent approval application by the applicants To foresee and determine the high-risk of such applicant.

Re: Chase - What gives?!

I had crazy limits on the unlimited and freedom cards. Decreased them all as well as other cards I have with AmEx, Barclays, Bank of america.  Applied for the Hyatt. Got the 30 days notice right away but they are known to change sometimes to 7-10. Decided to give them a call since this card is not under the 5/24 as of yet. So glad I did. A few verifications and I got approved. I've been reading about this card and seems like it's a keeper card.
