Chase & 5 / 24 ...What counts ?

Hi All,

I know Chase has a 5 / 24 rule which they follow most of the time, so one shouldn't open 5 or more cc's in 24 months before applying with them.   My question is...... do store cc's count?   and would Care credit count ?  ...or is it just V / MC & Amex cards which count towards this ?

Yes, they count. All revolving credit counts.

OP, this topic comes up frequently. The search feature can also provide a wealth of information, especially with current trends on similar topics.

For your reference, below is a recent link on the Chase 5/24 topic:

Re: Chase & 5 / 24 ...What counts ?

OP - it does get asked alot -  but even I learned something new on it last thread and I thought I understood it completely ! I was wrong ...

Basically - Chase counts EVERYTHING - Apply that rule and you are ok. It would not suprise me to learn Chase will soon start counting your friends and relatives soon to - as in "You are DENIED - you have borrowed $20 from your best friend more than 5x in the last 24 months."

Hey,

As some people already replied here, it does count. I like the advice that was given above! Take in consideration that everything counts so you don't have any surprises!

Chase has a pre-qualify page.  If you don't have any prequalifies and you have a decent score odds are you are over 5/24.
