Chase application question.

Before I get to the point, here's a little timeline about my Chase applications:

8/2016- Approved for a CSP (0/24)

10/2016- Approved for a FU after calling in to verify. (3/24)

11/2016- Approved for a CLI on the CSP.

12/13/16- Pending for the Freedom, Reconned same day, denial. (4/24)

12/31/16- Reconned a second time, and was given the reason of the CLI as to why it wasn't approved (didn't know they counted a CLI as a recent Chase account). Approved for the Freedom.

12/31/16- Applied for the Chase IHG (5/24)

Got the letter yesterday for the IHG denial citing 'too many recent Chase cards'

Ok, thats understandable. Now.. based on all this, when do you guys think I should re-apply? next month, 2 months, 3 months?

I would wait at least six months...you may be looking desperate to Chase.

Re: Chase application question.

With the low limits I would wait a year to churn another Chase card. Target Citi or Amex for awhile.

Re: Chase application question.

I'd give it at least six months. With having to recon twice to get the Freedom approved, it was basically inevitable the IHG would be denied. You don't want to appear desperate for credit. Take a break at least from Chase.

Re: Chase application question.

Thanks all for the replies. I'll give it a rest on any applications and revisit this in 3-6 months.

You need to give it a break, at least nothing in 6 months.
