What is your APR on the Freedom?
And no, once you get a card with Visa Signature, you don't lose that until it's time for them to "renew" it, or you get a new account number from what i've read.
The apt on the freedom is pretty up there I believe 22 ... My United is 15 though

I would close it, roll it's limit into your Slate and reapply for it. Check Chase pre-approvals and see if you are pre-approved for it with a lower after-promo rate.
But then my aaoa would take a nose dive. If anything I'll app for csp , transfer from cl from the united if needed , and if no , close united transfer limit to freedom IF I don't need it to open a csp
I'd much rather close a card that I have "just in case" I ever fly United .... I'm the southwest , jetblue Cheap ticket kind of guy

@Anonymous wrote:Is it worth a try to ask them to raise my credit limit to 5,000 ? It's at 1,000 and I have had the card for 2 years I would be using this card a lot more often if it had a higher credit limit on it ! The balance on it is $0.00 pretty much because of that . I have 4 other credit cards with credit lines over 2k so I'm a little bummed that im not showing one of my favorite cards any love
income is 26k total credit lines 18k with balances of 3.8k
Not worth the HP, IMHO.
Do they always do HP for CLI? Everytime I asked an increase, they just tell me you have an offer for $xxxx dollar and I say OK i'll take it. Never get a HP from them for CLI.

For most it seems that they will HP for CLI unless they decide on their own they're going to give it out.

Creditors are weired, you never know when they are going to HP or SP. When I got my phone from AT&T, they HP my report without my consent. I did it in store, the associate didnt tell me anything about a credit pull. They are just weired. HP for get a phone, LOL.
