But the Analyst and the letter said the main reasons I was flagged by the computer was too many accts and other factors related to having too many accts....16 accts. was the "too many" number they gave me BTW.
Who knows for sure. I think, though I can't be positive, that your 16 new accounts was just too many for them regardless of any new policy or not. This supposedly new policy is anything in excess of 5 for the previous two years which would eliminate a lot of us on MF for getting any of those 3 cards. I'm thankful that I already have the CSP and Freedom and have no need for the Slate. Before long I plan on applying for either the Marriott or United cards so we'll see what happens then because I have even more new accounts than you in the last two years.

And that's the part that was even MORE puzzling---at the time I app'ed for the Marriott I had Freedom for 1 year (it was a pre-selected offer) and CSP is coming up on 1 year (I cold app'ed and it was an instant approval). Although I was carrying balnaces on both at the time my payments on both cards was/is ALWAYS OVER the minimum payment--sometimes more than twice as much. And that was one of the things the last analyst I talked to brought up (min. payments. on accts.) I told her I've never made minimum payment on ANY account more than 3 times (acroos ALL accts.) in the almost 2 years I've had my accts....and still have money left to pay my other obligations.

You get more than that. I had a denial last summer, and have been able to pull up my Experian report daily, for free. Make sure you write down your report number and then go to:
