Yes in-branch preapproval for CSR that bypass 5/24...since you are close to multiple branches...I think you should go in and check it out (I don't have the answer on if you will get in-branch approvals with no relationship though) if they are going to the same public facing Chase page those will not bypass 5/24.
But my mother had pre-quals on CCJ and while she was approved 2 cards (she was NOT over 5/24 at the time) and I don't think they bypass 5/24 they are very similar to the Chase pre-qual page.
neither the chase site or the branch are 100%, I got 5 branch over 5/24 approvals, had a pre-app for a CIC and was denied. expect a hp when applying for credit. as a side note your scores on the low side for a signature approval.

I had this same thing in April 2017 and was approved for Freedom and CSP and was well over 5/24.
What is the chance of getting in with chase with very short credit history (9 months) but banking with them for over 10 years ( and another 7 before that with WA Mutual). They know better than me how much money I have, and what I spend it on. Just curious

I would say a pretty good chance, but I would def go in-branch to see what pre-approvals they have...do you have a particular card in mind?
I was thinking Chase FU. I have no balances to transfer, I am not a big spender, maybe $2-3k per month, I hate travelling ( dont judge), and i dislike spending categories because I will not buy things I dont really need. With that said, I'd take any of their cards for the simple *foot in the door* reason. Tho, I also think it may be beneficial to wait a bit longer, build a longer history that may result in better starting CL etc. I'd hate for them to put me at the kids table forever
I don't know..it's confusing

Fair enough, waiting I think is always good since your profile gets stronger, but there is not harm in inquring in-branch about pre-approvals, I suspect you may have some. You don't have to pull the trigger but at least you can have it in your hip pocket that they are offering you something. (I'm one of those people who never has pre-approvals online but I gets all the love in-branch...plus if there is a verfication process I can knock it all there without the pain-staking waiting).
And this is a judgment free zone no worries! ![]()
