Generally 6 - 12 mos. of AAOA. Clean reports will obviously be a better chance at approval. In experience Chase hasnt been too caring of new accounts. However like some lenders if you have quite a bit of new accounts that are less than 6 mos. it might be an issue.
If possible an AAoA of 1 year minimum and no new accounts for 6 months would be helpful. I was not too patient in 2012/13 and apped for Freedom as card number 4 within 1 month (out of total of 6 cards ) and while I got approved I also did get horrible terms. The reason was " too many new accounts compared to the total number of accounts". This was a valid point and Chase also indicated me their internal score which was 673 compared to Fico EQ of 790 which they also mentioned with the documents sent with the card. I guess that was the reason for my 22,99% APR. Today I would wait and app at a later stage but I was too impatient. Lesson learnt.

What do they look for as far as credit history goes? I'm interested in applying after I'm done gardening. I'm guessing at least a year? Clean files? New accounts at least six months old? I never see anything on the pre-qual page, at least not yet anyways
They look at your history but Chase uses mainly their internal score with credits scores playing a minimum role. How they calculate/arrive at their internal score is a mystery...
I got approved for Freedom and CSP in February. I have an old but thin file. I had two new accounts 13 and 15 months old. One 15 yr old Amex AU account. One paid closed account with some late pays 5+ years old. They pulled TU and Exp. My Tu was 687 and Exp was 783. Their pre-qualifiers are pretty reliable. I had been checking their pre-qualified site and getting slate and Freedom. One day CSP popped up and I went for it. HTH - good luck.
Good Luck
