Citi AA App

Recently applied with for this card when booking a flight Saturday afternoon. Spoke to a Sr. Credit Analyst today and she said I would hear something in 7-10 business days either a letter about why I wasnt approved or i would recieve the card. Does this sound like an approval?

 I did and it says we cannot complete you request at this time and I called earlier and spoke with someone.

OP, that's pretty much a standard message that could go in either direction.

So, all you can do is wait it out until you learn the outcome. You can periodically check the link as provided above or the automated system.

Yes I called the number it gave on the error message.

I agree...it can go either way.  What is more hopeful is when you call them and they ask to send you a text message.  When that happens it typically ends in an approval either on the phone or via snail mail.  Since you spoke with someone and they didn't provide much further than something will arrive in the mail, I wouldn't hold out too much hope even though there is still a slight chance it can be something fruitful.

The reason I asked for the Citi phone number  you used is because I apped for the same card last Tuesday and received the 7 - 10 day response message.  I then called 888-201-4523 and spoke to a CSR who told me Citi needed a copy of my last Pay stub or my W2 to continue processing my App. I don't have my W2 yet, so I emailed a copy of my Pay stub to Citi Credit Operations on Wednesday.

Waited 24 hours after sending email and called the 888 number above on Thursday.  CSR answered the phone, confirmed receipt of my Pay stub, asked if I would stay on the line for a couple of minutes so she could complete processing of my App. In less than 2 minutes she came back on the line with an APPROVAL for $11K SL!

This seems like a pretty golden card. I have wanted to apply for something like this.

I was just approved for a Citi AA Platinum Select - there were no issues other than Citi telling me that a security mailer must go out wherein a security code must be used. Once I got that and called in, I was immediately approved.

Call in and ask about status, when I did they said they couldn't go further unti I got the mailer. See if thats what this is
