Hey guys, my sister recently got a mailer from Citi for the DC card with 0% for 9 months and a 22.99% APR. Think this is solid?
Her current profile is:
Cap1 Secured MC @ $200 4/17
BOA Secured VIsa @ $500 3/17
Student Loan @ 5.1k
A couple baddies on all three accounts.
CCT: EX655, TU617, EQ649.
She also applied for Disco secured but was denied because she burned them back in 2012.
Thanks!
Surprisingly she was not prequalifed for anything. However, I don't think the inquiry would hurt that much.

Not being prequalified on the website doesn't mean the mailer isn't solid. Just make sure you apply with the invitation number. The Citi website has a page for responding to mail offers if that isn't clear in the mailer (here).

I wasn't pre-qualified for anything either, when I started my relationship with them. Some times you have to take a leap of faith with this stuff.
Agreed.
I was hesitant to apply for their card because I didn't want an inquiry with a denial, but it was actually a good experience as long as you are willing to wait a few weeks...it took them about three total to approve me.
Update:
Applied and instant approval for $1k. However, got a message saying something about a "delay in the applicaiton process." CSR told her to wait until her card comes and activate it. She did receive an email confirming the approval.

Citi prequal is fairly solid..ymmv. Have her go to the site and check for prequal offers. They pull EQ and EX for apps. Her scores are high enough for that. Citi can be unpredictable, only way to know is to try.
They pulled TU and EX for me in Florida. Applied in 7/4/17
Wow..didn't know Citi pull TU at all. Thanks for the info. I've only seen EX and EQ. I'm in Alabama. And just EX for CLIs.

Oh good - congrats to her! I was just going to mention that I got a mailer, applied and my score was just a tad below hers. I was instantly approved too. Just thought I'd share in case others are in a similar boat.
